ABOUT deFORM
Václav Mlynář and Jakub Pollág are friends who met while studying product design at UMPRUM in Prague. Sharing a passion for functional objects and contemporary aesthetics, they founded Studio deFORM in 2011 as a platform for collaborative design across disciplines. They later moved to London to study at the Royal College of Art and continued working together on their start-up Koski Game until 2017, when they were invited to become Creative Directors at the Czech glass brand BOMMA, a position they held together for three years. In 2020, they decided to close Studio deFORM and pursue their own individual projects and passions.
Václav Mlynář
Václav Mlynář is a designer, Creative Director and studio owner based in Prague. He specializes in product and lighting design, and since 2017 he has been the Creative Director of the glass lighting brand and manufacturer BOMMA. He runs his own creative studio Monument Office, focusing on spatial and interior design, and also leads his personal product design practice. Václav studied in Prague, the US, Denmark and London, where he received a Master’s degree from the Royal College of Art. Since 2019, he has also been teaching Product Design at NC State University in Prague.

Jakub Pollág
Jakub Pollág is a product designer and founder of the design studio Zeitgeist.Limited, based in Prague. His work spans furniture, consumer products and design consultancy with a focus on function, clarity and contemporary aesthetics. Jakub studied at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague and at the Royal College of Art in London. With international experience and a hands-on approach to design, he continues to shape forward-thinking objects and ideas. Since 2019, he has also been teaching Product Design at NC State University in Prague.
